The following is a summary of upcoming and ongoing mission opportunities. Everyone is invited and encouraged to be a part
of any of these ministry areas as we join together to serve our community and world through Christ. Mission
contacts are listed for each area.
. On the first Sunday of each month we observe this PCUSA special offering dedicated to
supporting hunger in our community and world.
. Through PCUSA Macland supports several missionary families: The Gartrell's serving in
Brazil, South America, The Dimmock's in Malawi, Africa, The Haninger's in the Congo, Africa.
. Meals are served at the Men's Shelter on the first Sunday of the month and the third
Thursday of the month. Assistance is needed with this ministry each month.

needed with this shelter ministry.
. Macland members may volunteer for the Hundreds of Heroes
Mentoring Program or the Read-A-Book program at Compton by calling the school at 770/222-3700. Copies of the

by the program.
The following designated giving funds support various community and global mission projects ongoing at Macland.
Anyone who desires to support these programs financially may make their contribution directly to Macland Presbyterian
Church and designate the appropriate fund on your check.

fund, we have provided assistance to temporarily address a wide range of crises such as homelessness,
joblessness, health emergencies and flood victims.
. This fund provides assistance to any member participating in a mission trip.
Scholarships are designed to supplement a portion of the cost of any trip and may range from $100 to $500
depending upon the availability of funds. Requests for assistance must be submitted to the Elder for Missions.
. This fund supports year round needs for school supplies at Compton Elementary. The funds
are utilized to target "at risk" children who might not otherwise have access to needed school supplies.
. This fund supports Macland's participation in the MUST Ministries Summer
Lunch Program. Each July Macland volunteers make 500 lunches for Cobb County children in need. Funds
are used to purchase needed food items for the lunches.
